Evaluation basics

If a team cannot explain how it knows an AI feature is good, it usually does not know whether the feature is useful at all.

Evaluation has to be designed

Evaluation is not a final checkbox. It is the structure that tells you whether quality is improving, drifting, or never existed in the first place.

  • Define the task clearly
  • Separate speed from correctness
  • Check edge cases, not only average cases
  • Review failures with actual examples
Without evaluation, a polished demo is just a polished guess.
